COMMUNITIES FIRST TRUST FUND

Communities First has enabled community groups to access over £260,000 of funding through the Communities First Trust Fund since 2002.  This funding has been used for such things as minor improvements and surveys to Village Halls, historical books, musical & stage equipment, festivals & events, choir uniforms, computers & office equipment, training, digital & video cameras, and the purchase of a marquee to enable community events to be held in the village of Penegoes.

OTHER FUNDING ACCESSED

Being one of only three Communities First areas in Powys is without doubt a contributing factor in attracting additional resources and funding to the area, including an Integrated Children’s Centre, the Mentro Allan programme (£220,000), ELWa’s Geographic Pathfinder, Communities@one (Successful application by MCCP Ltd for £20,000), Playground equipment, Bus shelters, CCTV cameras, and water dispensers for schools.
