Views sought on Crime and Disorder

6th Oct 2009

The Powys Community Safety Partnership (CSP) and Bro Ddyfi Communities First are seeking your views about issues surrounding crime and disorder in the Bro Ddyfi Communities First area that is made up of Llanbrynmair, Cadfarch, Glantwymyn and Machynlleth.
Community Safety is the protection of everyone's right to live without fear for their own and other people’s safety. Dyfed Powys Police and Powys County Council have been responsible for tackling crime and disorder in the county for a number of years. These agencies, along with other key partners, form the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) and through proactive working, the CSP is reducing crime and disorder to improve the quality of life for all those who work, live and visit Powys.
Services such as Environmental Health, Waste Management, Trading Standards, Tidy Towns, Fire and Rescue and Housing are able to offer a range of activities designed to make communities safer whilst offering the chance for residents to get involved and make a difference in their community by doing something practical to improve their neighbourhood.
A new ‘Communities First/ CSP Problem Solving Group’ is to meet shortly in the Bro Ddyfi Area and are now seeking your views and concerns on Community Safety issues so that these can be discussed at this meeting so as to enable the agencies involved to work in partnership to help resolve issues that matter the most to the local community.
The local Communities First Coordinator, Cyril Breeze Evans explained “We really need to identify the views and concerns of as many local residents as possible in order for this new group to be able to move forward in addressing these issues”.
All views should be registered with Communities First Bro Ddyfi by 6th November at the latest.
E-mail: commfirst.broddyfi@powys.gov.uk , Telephone: 01654 700315, by post, or by calling in at the Communities First office, Yr Hen Siop, Bryn y Gog, Machynlleth, Powys SY20 9QJ.
