We offer support to residents and community groups to improve their skills, services and involvement in decision-making. We can help to find funding to support a project or run a training course. For example we have had a number of people contact us with an interest in gaining the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, so we have arranged for a tutor to come in and work with the group to further their career chances.
We are currently working on an Action Plan to gather the views and suggestions of the residents. We have been asking them to vote on what they believe are their three most important priorities for Oldford. These include, crime and safety, community issues, the environment, training and health issues.
There is a bi-monthly newsletter called the Oldford Voice. This is a great way to reach all of Oldford, for the residents and organisations, to share stories, news of events, and important issues that could affect the residents
We also support events such as the Clear Up Oldford Day which is in its second year and has encouraged more and more residents to tidy up the estate.

There was also the first Oldford Community Show that brought the community of Oldford and the wider community of Welshpool together and was fun for all involved, there were over three hundred visitors.
Vis a Vis Balloon race.
We supported the 'Keep Safe and Well Day' at the local Flash Leisure centre where we had the opportunity to promote our work and environmental issues such as saving energy.
We want our website to be a useful resource for members of the Oldford community and for members of the wider community who want to find out more about the work of Oldford Communities First. We would therefore welcome any comments, contributions or suggestions for improvement via the Contact Us section.
