What is the Activ8 Time Banking project?
Oldford Communities First were successful in receiveing funding from Powys Zero Waste to run a pilot Time Bank scheme for one year. If this first year is a success the scheme will be opened to the whole community. We are working in Partnership with the following agencies to deliver this project: Welshpool Youth Centre, Powys County Council, Robert Owen Credit Union, North Montgomeryshire Volunteer Bureau and Powys Regeneration Partnership. This pilot project is aimed at young people aged 11+.
The most valuable asset in a community are the people - they all have the potential to make a positive contribution to their community. The time and energy that people give to build and strengthen their
communities should be recognised and valued.
By joining Activ8, they will become active citizens in their own community, using existing skills, developing new ones and accessing new experiences through trips, activities and projects.
For every one hour of volunteering you earn one credit!
Members can save credits and spend them on any activities and trips on offer at the time. This could include: Trips to theme parks, driving lessons, music events, local activities and lots more!
Becoming a member
Becoming a member is simple! Young people need to collect an enrollment pack from us, if they are
under 18 years of age a parent or guardian will also have to sign the form. Return the form to us at the Oldford Communities First and we will give them their personal credit record card to record how many credits they have earned and what they have spent.
Once they are a member, we will keep in touch with all of the new and exciting volunteering opportunities to help them earn credits. We will also let them know how they can spend their credits on trips, activities, and more!
