Oldford Litter Pick's are a success

1st Jun 2009

There have been two litter pick events on the Oldford Estate, the first was on 15th April and at this we collected nine bin bags full of litter and had sixteen volunteers. The second was on 27th May where we collected eight bin bags of litter and had even more volunteers. Volunteers met at the Oldford play area and were given vests, gloves, and litter picks. We were also joined by Heather Bull and Gavin Willaims of the Powys County Council Waste Awareness team and Delyth Richards of Keep Wales Tidy.

We are hoping to hold up to four more litter picks during 2009 so keep an eye out for further dates! Its a great way to teach children and young people the importance of putting rubbish in litter bins.
