Oldford has spring clean!

Oldford Clear Up Day

This event took place on Saturday 7th May, 11am - 2pm.

This event was very successful considering it was the wettest day we have seen in months! Even the weather didnt stop people turning up to bring theirs and neighbours items to the skip. There were around 30 volunteers on the day and approximatley 2 tonnes of unwanted items were removed.

A huge thank you to our two volunteers who manned the refreshments stand and helped out with fetching peoples items.

The children also did an amazing job litter picking and brought back bag fulls of rubbish! We also saw some new faces who stayed out in the rain to help bring friends and neighbours items to the skip.

I would like to thank Phoenix Furniture Scheme for helping to recycle all the white goods collected and to Powys County Council for supplying the skip and a driver who made two trips to Potters Recycling.

Remember that if you have something you need to get rid of, why not ask your friends and neighbours if they have anything they need to get rid of and share the cost of getting the Council to collect them. Alternatively if you have something that is in reasonable condition, call Phoenix Furniture Scheme who will come and collect the items for free and recycle them.
