This section is all about how CF links to other areas, government, public bodies, business and voluntary groups. Finding out about what is happening in other CF areas, around Wales and in the UK, will aid the long term success of our CF areas and their surrounding neighbourhoods in Powys. Lots of good things are happening round the nation, many of which can be adapted for the Powys context.
Working with others – not just communities but also business and councils – will also help the CF programmes in Powys be more successful.
Why is understanding and working to strategies important?
Development of our societies is not ad hoc. Economics, politics, demographics, technology, and environmental issues at local, regional, national and international levels all affect our societies and our societies affect them. There is an interlinking – we do not live in isolation.
Strategies prepared by government or research groups try to unpick the complexity, to make it understandable so that more people can understand the way our society is going. If the direction is good – then the strategies will suggest, from the experience and thinking of those who write them, as to the best ways to keep the trend going. If a trend seems to be going in a negative direction then the strategies will provide ways to slow, stop or turn the trend round.
Therefore to understand the way relevant strategies are moving provides us with guidance as to how we can direct our efforts in harmony. In addition many funding bodies take note of the direction of these strategies and often direct their giving to organisations that wish to work along the same lines.
Hopefully the following sections will help us all to work together better and share what we are doing well.
