Training:
At whatever stage partnerships and community groups are at there is always value in gaining new skills and abilities, especially those relevant to the growth and success of community groups. For this reason there is training available from a range of organisations to meet the needs of trustees, volunteers, development workers, managers, and finance officers for voluntary and community groups.

Although the Communities First programme has been running for 7 years there is still a gap in knowledge and understanding about the programme and the particular areas in Powys among the public, voluntary groups, businesses and statutory agencies. For this reason a short training course explaining and showcasing the Communities First programme and activities in Powys is being developed by the Powys CF Link officer. The short course will soon be available for statutory agencies.
This is a programme developed in Conwy Communities first area and funded by the Communities First Support Network. It has been designed to help statutory agencies understand about how to be inclusive in their dealings with members of the public and the community especially in the way they deliver services. It has been written especially for local councils and has relevance to other statutory bodies as well.
For more information on the programme go to http://www.communitiesfirst.info/UsefulResources/index.aspx?id=96
and for information on how it is going to be delivered in Powys contact the Powys CF Link officer.
